About
Hi! This is Partha. I am based out of downtown West Chester, PA and have been a Math tutor for 15+ years now. Math has always been a passionate subject for me, and I love sharing the knowledge with students. My students are mostly from 6th grade up until the end of school. I strive to make my students understand the concepts a few weeks earlier than when school is about to teach the topic, just to make sure my student feels confident when coming across a known concept in class. This drives excellence for my students, as well as gives them time to work on harder topics that usually take extra practice and be prepared for the test/quiz in school.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every student is different. I try to first understand the problem the student is having - which is most of the time understanding the concepts in school, or could be that the student is looking for challenging problems to solve, and finds school boring. I try to address their concerns, while using as many real like examples as possible, so that the students can relate to the concepts being taught.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I generally charge $50/hr. Most of my students tutor on a weekly basis and tutor for 1.5hrs a session.
How did you get started teaching?
I always loved Math as a subject and wanted to spend as much time solving challenging problems. When I was a senior in high school, I started tutoring junior students and found that as something I would be interested in doing long term. To help someone gain interest in this beautiful subject is rewarding in itself!
What types of students have you worked with?
Students that have their grades slip, mostly because they are shy to ask questions in class, or if school is proceeding at a faster rate than they can catch up with. I also have students who understand the math concepts well, and want to be challenged with harder problems to keep their interest growing in the subject.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
A tutor can help you understand the concepts and guide you on a specific problems you need help with - however, you will need to spend time at home, solving additional problems to master the concepts and gain confidence.
