About

I am a child behavioral therapist, educational therapist and credentialed teacher. I have worked successfully with students with learning challenges in writing, reading, math, and many other areas.

My focus is on both academic, developmental, cognitive growth, and self-regulation.

I have been working in my field for 31 years. My professional experience has been in special education, early intervention, social emotional learning, dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, ASD, dyspraxia, executive functioning, assessment, math and reading difficulties, and more.

I am very specialized. I am the person to come to when looking for someone to work with beyond homework. I am the person to come to when regular tutoring has not worked.

I work with children both in-person and virtually depending on their abilities and needs.

    Frequently asked questions

I typically have a thorough phone consult with the parent of the tutor. If the parent is open, I review any recent assessment notes. The parent and I review the short and long terms goals. Once I meet the learner, I use the first few sessions for the two of us to establish an individuated and collaborative schedule of the session. As time passes, the sessions will become reasonably more challenging in order to meet goals.

I began my practice as an early intervention child therapist with incorporated cognitive development and learning skills in order to help prepare each client for full inclusion at school. As I continued in my practice, I recognized consistent gaps and difficulties in my clients learning as they progressed in school. I soon became an educational therapist.
Most of my practice consists of neurodiverse learners. That is, learners who struggle with certain subjects at school that might even affect their behavior. The learners may or may not have received a diagnosis, such as, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, ADHD, ASD, etc.
