Hi there....I am a graduate of Bastyr University with a degree in Applied Behavioral Science. I spent 6 years as a counselor serving families, women in transition, and kids . I've worked in Schools as a Speech Therapist having trained in that profession at Oregon State University. I also have worked as a private tutor to kids needing a boost. It is truly a pleasure to see them succeed. Currently I teach ESL to kids online. What a priceless connection that is! My style tends to be a combination of fun and focus. When working with my students, I love to find that unique quality, that special spark that feeds their desire to learn. .

Amanda H. says, "Ms. McKenzie was my 3rd grade teacher and I still have fond memories of being in her class. She was always supportive and kind, and would not only teach academic material but talk to us students about being kind to one another. The projects or homework she would assign to us was interesting and got me engaged in my school work. I would highly recommend In It Together Tutoring." Read more

Ginger T. says, "As an Algebra teacher, I really appreciated having Liz as a tutor for several of my students who were failing. Because of Liz' quality communication and her teaching experience, she easily understood what I required of my students when I outlined our program and student work requirements. Liz was quick to identify their learning styles so that learning could happen effectively and immediately. I found that she assessed their deficiencies correctly and was able to provide one on one instruction that not only supplemented my teaching, but brought the student to a place of confident understanding. I saw growth in these students beyond just Algebra knowledge and understanding. They grew in their study skills and their confidence. After my students worked with Liz, I now had students who were successfully completing their homework, participating in class discussion and learning along with the class." Read more
