About
Hello, my name is Christian Davis. I am a certified English Teacher at Bristow High School with a Bachelors of Arts from Oklahoma State University. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA for my entire high school and college career. I am passionate about teaching creative writing, and I specialize in essay writing and revision. My recent experience with the ACT and college applications make me particularly well suited for aiding students in all their college preparatory needs. I look forward to working with students to achieve all of their ambitions, from improving their English grade and writing a stronger essay, to raising their ACT score and writing the perfect college enterance exam essay.
I enjoy watching students fulfill their goals. Nothing compares to the "lightbulb moment" when a student's face beams with a sudden realization or understanding. Additionally, I enjoy providing students with the skills to express themselves in writing. This enjoyment is compounded when students are able to creatively express themselves and compose truly original works that they love and are proud of.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would first identify the new student's current knowledge and abilities in order to construct a strong foundation from which to build upon. Once identified, I would formulate a plan which accounts for the student's past experiences and their desired goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a 2019 Oklahoma State University graduate with a Bachelor's of Arts in English. I am also certified to teach Secondary English Education, and I currently hold a position at Bristow High School. Furthermore, I recently finished an internship at Stroud Middle School teaching 7th and 8th grade English.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing system is $30 per hour. However, many other services are negotiable. For example, travel may be slightly more, while simply grading and providing feedback on an essay would be less.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started in teaching during my senior year of high school when I began tutoring middle school students in English and mathematics. Instantly I knew that this was my passion, and I have been improving my knowledge and teaching abilities for my students ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have previously worked with 7th and 8th grade students, as well as 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One recent event I am fond of is the promotion of my 8th grade students at Stroud Middle School. I served as their student teacher beginning in January 2019, and I designed, taught, and graded multiple essays throughout the semester. Watching them walk across the stage, knowing that I had a hand in their success, was one of the greatest feelings, and I hope to have many more opportunities of watching my future students succeed in all of their ambitions.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise a student looking to hire a teacher in my area of expertise to have a clear goal in mind. Whether this goal is increasing their ACT score or simply improving their essay writing abilities, these goals can profoundly help a teacher focus on what the student needs and not waste the student's valuable time on extraneous details.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should think through questions concerning their current knowledge and abilities and where they would like to see their knowledge and abilities in the future. A teacher is trained to help students reach their goals, but it certainly helps if the student already has these goals in mind. Knowing what you want and where you want to be is a great start for any student to think about before talking to a teacher.
