Hello, I'm Felix Park, I'm currently an English and Creative Writing Major at Oklahoma State University. I will be completing my education in the Fall of 2020 for a Bachelors Degree. I am an avid reader and enjoy writing literary fiction as well as genre fiction.
During my education at OSU, I have taken classes in fiction writing, poetry writing, reading/understanding poetry, and copy editing as well as many others over the last four years.
I've written a number of short stories and poems. Along with that, I'm proficient with editing papers and help students to think about their writing. I can help students understand the texts they are reading and help them write about themes and characters. I can provide feedback to develop characters for the short stories students are writing.
I enjoy writing, reading, and learning new conventions of language and writing. I like helping people to understand new things or to have a better grasp of the things they are learning/ have learned.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, we discuss what it is they need help with. This can range from help with understanding a piece of literature, help with writing essays or creative fiction, or copyediting to help clean and refine work.
After discussing what they need help with we go from there.
If they need help understanding something in literature we can discuss the work and whatever themes or ideas they have noticed and work from there.
If they need help with writing we will discuss the conventions of writing through style and form. I have a couple of books that I can photocopy to help with the grammar and other such things.
If they need help refining and cleaning drafts I can go through page by page and copy edit along with them so their writing can become more concise and accessible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an English major at Oklahoma State University with a focus on creative writing. I've taken classes on academic writing, fiction writing, poetry writing, reading poetry, and copyediting. I have a short story that I am currently working on to be published.

How did you get started teaching?
Both of my In-laws are in education one is a current teacher at Booker T. and the other is a former teacher at Booker T.
I also enjoy discussing literature and helping to understand ideas and themes in writing.
