About
I have a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. I taught Kindergarten and Pre-K in the Mid-del district. I have been a stay-at-home mom with my kids for the last 12 years and have been homeschooling them for the past 9 years. I have worked extensively with children for many years.
My favorite thing about teaching is when I see a student master something he/she has been struggling with. To see the "light bulb" come on is a great reward to me! Plus I love to see children learn and become more proficient in reading, math, and English.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would need to assess where the student is in the area where he/she is struggling. I would then focus on that particular struggle until it is mastered. I would use a variety of ways to connect and teach including manipulatives, books, etc. Each child would receive individualized attention and focus.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Early Childhood degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. I have also worked with children from the time I was very young. I homeschool my 3 children and have for the past 9 years.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always loved working with children. I was the oldest of 4 children so I had plenty of experience working with children from early on. I worked in the nursery at church growing up. I worked in a child care center while in college. Teaching seemed to be the next natural step for me. My years in the public school setting were great. I really enjoyed teaching my students and working with parents.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have mainly worked with Kindergarten and Pre-K students but feel qualified to help through about 4th grade.
