What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Need to know the student's background and how s/he has performed in the past on the subject on which s/he needs tutoring. I want to know that the student is committed to learning, and I want the student to know that no amount of tutoring will help unless the student has the desire to learn the subject. I also may need access to the student's current books or manuals; more effective tutoring may require that.
