About
I have been a teacher for three years and have experience with education and tutoring for about seven years. I am passionate about my job as an educator and believe in the power of a good education. I am willing to do remote tutoring. I have a document camera and other technology that makes remote tutoring effective. I am certified for 6-12 mathematics in Michigan and Ohio but have experience working with younger kids as well.
I enjoy the look in a students eye after they understand a concept that seemed almost impossible to them. Building relationships with the students I tutor encourages academic growth, therefore I focus on forming and maintaining relationships with my students and their families.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Identifying how they learn and adpating my teaching to the learning style. I also immediately begin to get to know the student to create a relationship so that we are able to grasp content better.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a certified teacher for two years, student taught for a semester and long term subbed for a semester bringing my total teaching experience to three years. I am certified to teach in three different states. I have completed two years with Teach for America in Memphis, Tennessee. I have a Bachelors and am obtaining my master of science currently. I have tutored for two separate companies in addition to my experience working in schools.
