About this tutor

Receive straightforward tutoring from a patient peer. I am a National Merit Scholar with over 4 years of tutoring experience in all core subjects spanning elementary to high school. As a 5 scoring AP Scholar in the AP US History, English Language, Spanish Language, Biology, English Literature, and Statistics exams, my sympathy for fellow students as well as all of my study tricks are fresh and ready in my mind.

My high school boasts an incredibly diverse student body, empowering me to learn with and learn from folks from all over the globe, including those learning English as a second language. I both coordinate and volunteer for our private peer tutoring program, and students typically request my expertise in Spanish and academic organization. My personal pursuits, however, tend to manifest in writing opportunities. I am a published poet with VerbalEyze Press and Toledo City Paper, and I am an established content writer for the animal rescue non-profit North Coast Greyhound Connection.

I am always in awe of the power of words. I believe in the beauty of effective communication, just as much as I believe in the importance of education to build a brighter future. Whoever you are, wherever you call home, let's learn together.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I want to target the areas you want to see the most improvement in. We'll start by identifying goals for our tutoring sessions and build a plan from there. In between sessions, I will compile supplemental resources in addition to any activities you would like to work through with me.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've been tutoring for almost half a decade, and I also oversaw my high school's tutoring program as an administrator. I also draw from my volunteering experience at church, where I received certification to interact appropriately with children and from there led mini summer lessons during VBSchool.

How did you get started teaching?

Way back when I was 9 years old, my teacher asked me to go down to the third grade and tutor in math!

What types of students have you worked with?

I've worked with preschool age kids as well as high schoolers. Some of the best learning experiences came from working with international students from South America, Asia, Africa, and Europe!
