Although teaching mathematics is a challenging task, I try to educate my students at a deep level of understanding and attempt to show my students how captivating mathematics can be, while focusing on reaching students of all backgrounds and learning styles. I believe the goal should be to impart a deep understanding of the course material that allows my students to apply the mathematics they have learned to succeed in subsequent math courses. I got my PhD from Purdue University and have experience in teaching Math for more than 30 years. Most of my students I tutored previously achieved excellent results.

I am a recently retired high school math teacher with 17 years experience. I also have 3 years experience homeschooling. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a mechanical engineer. I have a Master's Degree in Polymer Engineering, and have recently retired from my career in Technical Service for companies such as Dow Chemical, Associated Materials, etc. I started out my career as a high school Chemistry teacher before going back to Graduate School for my advanced degree. I have a passion for teaching, and understand that each student learns material in their own unique way. I am very flexible with regard to teaching methods, with a goal to adapt the program to fit those individual needs. I will also be available outside my scheduled hours for emergencies.
