About

I’m a former high school mathematics teacher with 5 years of experience teaching grades 9–12. My focus was primarily Algebra II and Precalculus (including honors-level courses), though I also have experience teaching Algebra I, College Prep, and Integrated Geometry.

I hold a BA in Teaching Mathematics from John Carroll University, where I also tutored for the university’s Mathematics Department. Currently, I work as a Health Coach Manager in the health tech industry and as a Personal Trainer, but my passion for teaching math and helping students succeed is as strong as ever. I specialize in making challenging concepts understandable and helping students build confidence in their abilities.

Miss Morell is very passionate about what she teaches. She has a deep understanding of the content presented. Math is a very hard subject for people to explain to others, but Miss Morell knows how to break it down in a way that each person will understand.

Ms Morell was one of the only teaches that I felt really pushed me in high school and I always saw myself grow academically in all her classes. If you are struggling in math, she is definitely the person you need!

    Frequently asked questions

I will set up a meeting with them to see what they are currently working on. Working through problems together (Or virtually) can give me a gauge as to the student's knowledge and can help me determine what skills to work on with them. Working on these skills will help the student gain a deeper understanding of the material and feel more success with current & future material.

I have a B.A. in Teaching Mathematics from John Carroll University (2013)

I was awarded Mathematics Major of the Month (2013)

I was asked to represent the Math Department for incoming students to JCU (2013)

7-12 Integrated Mathematics Secondary Education Teaching License

I am a current health coach who is becoming NBHWC certified: Motivational Interviewing Skills, Goal Setting - can be applicable to teaching and setting goals for students.

Baseline pricing: $75/hour **Subjects Offered at Baseline Pricing** - Algebra I - Algebra II - Precalculus - Geometry, Calculus, or other high school math courses (available upon request; may include an additional $10-25 /hour fee to cover preparation and resources to ensure student success). - College/University-level courses may be available depending on material; rates start at $150/hour.

I had a teacher when I was in high school, Mrs. Basista, who made me LOVE that I loved math. She made me love knowledge in general. I never had that love of loving difficult math until that point... I was always good at it, but she made it fun... she made me WANT to learn more. Ever since, I have always wanted to be that teacher for someone else.

I have worked with a wide range of students; students with diverse backgrounds, students who struggle with material, students who struggle in/out of school, at-level students, high achieving students, athletes, thespians, students with miscellaneous passions, and students with math as a passion.

I recently experienced a job displacement due to over hiring. While that in itself wasn’t something I was fond of, the response from my direct reports, coworkers, and other high level leaders across the company was. These talented individuals from all over the U.S. went out of their way to reach out, offer recommendations, referrals, support, connect me with their network, and stay connected with me as a friend. To see quite distinctly how I’ve been a meaningful person in others lives and/or career has been incredibly valuable, and will remain an (after) event that I am quite fond of.

Find someone who WANTS to teach you... they have a lot of knowledge to give you and will be patient and willing as you grow. Be open to learning and be patient.  It might be gradual, but you will get there.

Think back to the first time you struggled with math or a subject you are struggling in. Ask them if they can help with that foundation of knowledge. Building a better foundation can help you grow & flourish in those areas.
