Mellow Tutoring
About
I have always excelled at understanding material provided to me in school, but I often struggled with completing homework because I felt unchallenged in my role. I have had to fight to keep myself focused on my goal, and understand how to get these sorts of students motivated to do their work.
Contrarily, I have also spent most of my life tutoring my siblings, who are admittedly less apt at absorbing information. They represent the average student, those who thrive in the classroom setting but struggle with the academic side of things. I have learned that challenging these students to learn in different styles that may cater more specifically to the way their mind functions. (i.e. Visual v. Auditory v. Kinesthetic)
I have been tutoring through my school for three years, and have found joy in guiding students into understanding the materials provided to them.
I will be studying childhood psychology and education in the fall.
I love the joy that lights up someones face when they finally understand a difficult concept. If I can make someone enjoy English, I will feel accomplished.
