About

I tutor students one-on-one to ensure the understanding of content. With one-on-one tutoring, students and I get to form a friendship with lots of trust. As a current college student myself, I can relate to many students, as I have recently gone through similar experiences and struggles. I have been tutoring in person and online for 3 years now. I'm currently a student majoring in biological sciences, specializing in neuroscience, and minoring in mathematics. I will attend medical school once I complete my undergrad. I was offered a position at Columbus State Community College as a science and math tutor. I am qualified to teach all math subjects up to (and including) calculus I. I can tutor regular, honors, AP, CCP, and college courses. All throughout high school and college I have been a teacher/professor assistant and often helped organize classes and study sessions. I am very passionate about math and science! I tutor anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and biology. I love tutoring because I get to help students improve themselves and expand their knowledge.

I am very passionate about tutoring. I love the "ahhhh" moment when a student finally understands something. I enjoy helping others improve themselves, gain confidence, and expand their knowledge. I absolutely love sharing what I know. There's nothing more sweet than seeing a student's excitement when they recieve the grade they've been hoping for. Also, as someone who adores math and science, it's an amazing opportunity to be able to spread the love! Not only that, but I enjoy meeting and getting to know students!

I believe tutoring should not be something that students dread! That's why I make it a point to get to know the student and form a friendship. Many of my students are comfortable with texting or facetiming me asking about one of their homework problems that they're confused about.

Ashleigh is amazing. She is very helpful! She tutored next in AP Calculus AB and I ended up getting a 5 on the AP test as well as passing the class. Before I met her, I failed every calculus test and maintained a D average. She helped me tremendously.

Frequently asked questions

I like to get to know the student the first time we meet. We talk about each other for a little bit and get familar with one another. The first time I meet a student, I like to get a sense of where they are at. I like to know their school struggles and their confusion so I can help. Not only that, but I find that I can relate to many students because I have recently experienced the same struggles and I find that helps students understand content better. I also like to know their strengths, motivations, and out of school activities.

I have been a tutor for 3 years. I have been a teacher/professor's assistant for 2 years. I am also currently a college student so I understand the struggles and I have firsthand experienced the confusion the students are going through. I graduated high school with an honors diploma, over 4.0 GPA, and recieved an award for the National Honors Society.

I charge $20/hour.

In highschool I often found myself helping fellow classmates understand content. Many students believe their questions are 'stupid' and don't want to ask their teacher. So my friends would come to me and I would explain things. I enjoyed it because I got to help others while simutaneously working with math and science (which I love!).

I have worked with students of all ages. I mainly tutor 5th grade through college students. But I do have experience with tutoring elementary students. I have worked with all types of students. I tutor students with learning disabilities, health conditions, and personal struggles.
