Professor Z routinely works with students who have been diagnosed with learning difficulties, including ADD, ADHD, Asperger's syndrome, dyslexia, and many others. We also help students who struggle with test anxiety, study skills, time management, etc.
We are proud of our track record and our students' long list of achievements, in and out of the classroom.
The success of our academic tutoring and test preparation course students fuels our determination to help even more students succeed. Nothing we do provides more satisfaction than watching our students succeed, regardless of the student's current level or the subject matter involved.
We love what we do and the students we work with, and we work with every student one-on-one, tailoring their tutoring and/or test preparation to their precise requirements. In the end, our students always succeed. Always!
My son was diagnosed with ADHD at a time when we knew very little about the disorder (1980 at age 4). The usual treatment at that time was primitive by today’s standards, and the treatment’s negative impact on my son was profound and long lasting. I swore I would do what I could to help him and ease his journey through an education system that had no idea how to handle children with learning difficulties. It was heartbreaking.
I have been working with children with learning difficulties ever since. Over the years, teachers, parents, professors, and friends have called me, asking for my help. I took on children who had been written off by almost everyone, and I worked with each and every one, never turning a child away. Today, I have Facebook friends who were my students 25-38 years ago. They are happy, productive, and successful. I keep in touch with many of my old students, and I have even tutored the children of my old students. It is intensely gratifying.
I love what I do and the children I work with!

Once contacted, we set up a free consultation and assessment as soon as possible. Right from the start, our primary objective is to make sure we can help the prospective student excel. Once we meet, discuss the prospective student's goals, the timeframe we have to work with, and whether or not we have the right chemistry to work together, we set up a one-on-one program of instruction tailored to meet our new student's goals and requirements. We don't waste time! The sooner we begin, the sooner our students can move on with the rest of their lives. Ultimately, our job is to succeed in helping our students become successful and independent, thus eliminating the need for our services.

We never turn students away. If the desire and the proper chemistry are there, we find a way to make it work. This is all we do, and we have been rated as one of Cleveland's "Best." We only take on a handful of students at any one time, but we do our best to make sure no one is turned away for financial reasons. Our students come first, always!

Exercise due diligence when choosing a tutor, mentor, test preparation specialist, or college admissions consultant. Meet with the prospective tutor* prior to making a final decision. There are a great many tutors who work part-time and have little-to-no verifiable experience. Spending a little more time during the selection process may mean fewer upsets and a greater return on investment in the long run. Ultimately, the decision should be made based on the tutor’s experience, expertise, area of specialization (if any), and track record, including reviews, letters of recommendation, and testimonials. The initial consultation should be free-of-charge, and the tutor should be able to connect with the prospective student and his or her parents. Good luck with your search. I wish you all the best! Professor Z *Let’s use “tutor” as a generic term for tutoring, mentoring, test preparation, and college admissions specialists.

When looking for a tutor, ask for a face-to-face consultation. You should know who you are retaining and their educational philosophy. Do not hire a tutor solely because the price is right—look for a tutor who is empathetic, passionate about helping students achieve their education-related goals, and has a track record.
Good luck!
