About this tutor

As a youth pastor with ADHD, I not only have a love for teaching and mentoring kids and teens, but I love high energy environments. I am committed to finding out how each student uniquely learns and going off of that. I am open to all students and anything that would make them unique!

I love finding new ways of learning how the world works. Math is in everything we do and I am amazed at how it all clicks together and flows from subject to subject. On top of that, I love seeing other people begin to understand how math works and using that move forward in whatever the subject would be.

As a graduate in ministerial leadership and a current computer science student, I am passionate about teaching, learning, and helping others to achieve their goals. I believe that by making learning fun, this young generation will grow up to further the world and make it a better place.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Getting to know a first-time student is most important. As someone who struggled in a classroom setting, I identify how each student uniquely learns and processes information and then tailor a predeveloped learning plan to their needs.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

As a youth pastor with a degree in Ministerial Leadership, I have extensive training in working hands-on with a wide range of personalities. I am passionate about helping others, especially the younger generation, so by blending my passions and education, I am able to create a positive and effective environment that I take pride in.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with all types of students. As someone with ADHD, my favorite types of students to work with are any with a learning impairment such as ADHD or autism.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

When looking for a tutor, look for someone who knows how to piece together and apply the equations. As a Computer Science student, a large part of my curriculum teaches algorithms and understanding how to comprehend an equation and use it to effectively reach an answer.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

I always encourage students to work towards understanding what they struggle to apply. Memorizing an equation doesn't help if you are not sure how to apply that equation. Once you can identify that, that's where a tutor can help out!
