My focus is less on grades, and more on ensuring students understand the lecture material thoroughly. In addition to knowing the subject matter, I also study books on teaching, which allow me to develop strategies to deliver my lectures in a concise and engaging manner. By doing so, I believe that students can develop an interest in the rich subject of Mathematics, and are as well prepared for any test, standardized or curricular, as possible.
I consider teaching a craft, and trying to find ways to present Mathematics in an engaging manner poses some very interesting challenges. By doing so, my hope is that students can learn appreciate the beauty of the subject, above and beyond preparing for standardized tests.
