About
I tutor English (ELA) and English as a Second Language (K-12). I meet students at their level and help them master the learning skills needed for success. I am a Nationally Certified Tutor through The National Tutoring Association and have a Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Ct. State University. My background in the performing arts (stand-up & acting) has given me the unique ability to problem solve in many ways and keep a sense of humor while steadfastly supporting the academic success of your student.

My son has been her student since we moved to the US in July 2023 and her expertise and support definitely made him adapt well and faster to the new school as well as significantly improve his English. She is a very serious and competent professional, great with kids! We are very glad we found her.

My daughter studies English for the first time. The tutor is very cheerful and friendly, so my daughter enjoys her class without being nervous. She tries to make my daughter interested in English. For example, she incorporates songs and games into her lessons.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I initially discuss the student's needs and challenges with the parent. Then I have a trial lesson with a student that includes a brief interview and evaluation. Moving forward I create individual lesson plans for each lesson that suit the students' needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science in Education and Theater. I am also a Nationally Certified Tutor through the National Tutoring Association. I am also trained in the Orton-Gillingham method for reading and writing.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rate is $70.00 per hour and I prorate this rate for shorter lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching swimming lessons when I was 16 years old and I have been working with children ever since!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children from all over the world (teaching ESL) and I have also worked with children who have ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and many types of learning challenges related to reading and writing. I have also worked with students who needed Executive Functioning Skill coaching to take their grades to the next level.
