Rose tutored me for a two semester long course in art history while at Connecticut College. She is by far the easiest person to understand a subject with. She is patient and non judgmental and professional, while also being a funny and lovely person. She knew how to explain things in a way that was very specific to my own learning style so it was basically like putting every piece of what I knew, and, what I needed to know, together. I got a final A in that class because she was so easy to work with. She’s extremely intelligent and also extremely personable so she knows how to understand a person so that she can shape her sessions to fit. Overall, she is a great person and great for any age!

Rose was such a wonderful tutor!! I needed help writing an essay for my Art History course and reached out. She was kind, understanding, and patient working through some of the holes in my thesis with me—and! She still was able to add some humor to it all. Would definitely recommend.

Rose was extremely clear and easy to understand. She made even complex topics more digestible. Even when I got frustrated, she was extremely positive, comforting, and patient. Rose is the best tutor I’ve ever had!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to start right away! Before I meet with a student (although it does vary) I like to get a copy of a syllabus, assignment and or list of goals that they have so that I am able to to fully be aware of their class's, families and own expectations. It allows me to familiarize myself with the task at hand and thus prepare for our in person or skype/phone sessions. I also like to start of asking some questions about their learning styles, interests and hobbies so as to understand how to best appeal, translate and relay information to them.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a high school diploma from the Ethical Culture Fieldston School and a BA degree from Connecticut College in Art History and Museum Studies.

How did you get started teaching?

In the increasingly polarized political climate we live in today, I feel an urgent call to work in such a way that supports fundamental human needs and interests. Being a teacher allows me to focus on using history, english and other disciplines to educate and inspire my community around me.
