Once understanding where the student is currently at in terms of ability I try to make things as easy to understand and work at a pace that will help them retain/learn information.
I enjoy mathematics and love to help others. I'll do anything within my abilities to make sure that the person I'm helping has an understanding of the topic we're reviewing.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
After giving said student an assessment to see what they do and do not understand, I make a custom lesson plan to help them further in the areas in which they had difficulty while also making sure they continue to understand what they have remembered.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've done a program called high school heroes which gives older students the opportunity to go to various elementary school and teach a class of kids varying from kindergarten to 4th grade.
