I'm a reuslts-oriented, proven tutor with 5 years of experience at one of the two largest test prep companies in the world. I tutor for the SAT, ACT, SHSAT, PSAT, calculus, algebra, English (reading & writing), and economics. I provide a unique approach to tutoring which is based on each individual student, and have a track record of success. Several of my students have earned perfect scores on the ACT, one student has scored a perfect on the SAT, and another handful have scored above a 1500 on the SAT.
I believe in a focused, plan-based approach to tutoring. I begin with a diagnostic session to best understand a student's strengths and weaknesses, and create a tailored study plan from that. As we progress through our sessions, the study plan is fluid and changes based on a variety of student-related factors.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically begin with a diagnostic session or test to understand a student's strengths and weaknesses. From there, I create a detailed study plan to address deficiencies while maintaining and growing proficiencies. I review the study plan with my students and their families, and then maintain a dynamic approach to the plan. Based on how a student progresses, we adjust the plan to meet his or her needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I previously taught for Kaplan Test Prep for 4 years, and graduated with degrees in Finance and Economics from the Ohio State University.

How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching as a freshman in college and was hired by Kaplan the following summer. I found that I had a unique approach to standardized tests which yielded strong results for me, and I was eager to share my approach with other students. Since then, I've grown my skillset in tutoring and have developed my teaching skills in a variety of subjects.
