You can check for some student reviews on my facebook page (below) to see how I help students reach their goals for college entrance exam scores.
I also support students who are applying to college by working with them to get the best and most compelling Common Appp essays possible. We hold a Personal Statement Boot Camp as well as many one on one session with students. The essay is a crucial part of your application and it's important to make it stand out.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start with assessment. It's important to know the baseline of where the student is coming in. For writing students, we go through a short initial writing assessment. The same for ESL and testing students. Together we review where the student is situated on entry and we dicsuss and agree on the strategy we will use going forward. The student takes a stakeholder role and everyone is happy with the way forward as we begin.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA from New York Univerisity in film from Tish School of the Arts. I worked as an assistant editor at The Paris Review for several years and I have pubished short fiction in a few journals. I have a track record of strong proven results in the ACT / SAT/ GRE and IELTS exams. My students always stack on points, I have never had one who did not.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Each package is individual. I have students from all over the world with different currencies and different circumstances so it has to be.
How did you get started teaching?
I love to travel. Being tied down to brick and mortar was not going to work for me longterm. My own daughter traveled with me and became a homeschooled kid (travelschooled) several years ago and I, with math and science partner tutors, educated her all the way to a highly selective college in the US.
I added more students on the longer I worked with her and that is how it came about.
What types of students have you worked with?
Literally ever kind of student. American and British students with fluent English, students from Hong Kong to Shenzhen to Jordan, Malaysia, Canada, Portugal, Germany, it's amazing.
I have students who come with almost no Engish at all.
I also have students with learning challenges and we work well together.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make 100% sure they are native speaking. Ask for an assessment first and listen to what they have to say about what they believe to be your baseline, challenges and strengths. Find out their system or teaching structure for you in particular. No two students are the same and each one needs a tailored plan and system. Lastly, do you feel postive after working with them? That is an important aspect not to be overlooked. Energy is important.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
An assessment is the key to fact finding what a teacher is going to do with you. Ask them how they plan to take your success forward.
