Paul Behanna Math Tutoring
About
I am a certified Math Teacher that loves working with students of all ages and skill levels. I can proudly claim that ALL of my students have improved after working with me. I have been teaching at the middle and high school levels for the last 6 years, and have been tutoring for the last 7 years.
The best part is when my students have that "A-Ha!" moment when something all of a sudden becomes clear to them and they understand something they didn't before.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All new students are screened on the phone or via Google Meet. While we are practicing social distancing, all sessions will be conducted online using Google Meet. NO EXCEPTIONS.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been an accountant for 25 years and a math teacher for the last 6 years. I am currently certified by NY and SC for teaching grades 7-12 and have tutored students of all grades K-12.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My fees are $60 per hour and are not negotiable.
Discounts given for commitment of 10 sessions or more.
How did you get started teaching?
Started substitute teaching 10 years ago and loved being back in a classroom sharing what I've learned through life and work over the last 20 years. I chose math because I see so many students struggle with it and I felt I would be able to make the biggest difference with students in that subject.
What types of students have you worked with?
Students of all ages and skill levels K-12, including students with IEPs and unclassified or undocumented learning difficulties.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A 6th grade student of mine went from barely passing to getting very good grades and even scored a 100% on a test (First time ever)! Another 6th grade student qualified for Honors 7th grade math for this coming school year!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Personality match is just as important as knowing if the teacher is good at teaching math. Make sure you feel comfortable working with your teacher/tutor, otherwise it will be a much more difficult process.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Please know the goal you are trying to acheive by working with me. You should also know the reliable technology you have available to conduct sessions with. Video sessions on a phone will not be productive. A laptop or desktop with a built-in camera is ideal.
