About this tutor

I have been teaching for over 10 years. I completed my MS.Ed and Teacher Certification in Special Education. I love to help students with their reading and writing skills. It is one of my strengths to read, understand phonics, and I love books!

I have been told by parents and coworkers that I care so much about my students and that they are thankful for my patience.

My most rewarding expriences often occur when a student starts to understand a concept that was once so difficult and confusing. This happens sometimes right in front of the teacher/tutor which is awesome! I love to see my student's confidence increase and  they become eager to take on more challenges and then learning has no limits!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

My first lesson is basically getting to know my new student, establishing rapport and finding out what you want to learn. During that lesson or the next you will complete a learning survey and a quiz just so that I can get a baseline of your knowledge and know where to begin teaching.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

B.A, MS.Ed, Teaching Certification in Students with Disabilities; Special Education.

Taught students with Dyslexia and ADD, ADHD.

Training in special ed agencies for ABA;Autism spectrum students. On the job training worked as a Para with EBD (Emotional Behavioral Disabilities)
