About
My services are different because instead of focusing on memorization to obtain a solution, I make sure the student has a complete understanding and intuition for the subject.
My most enjoyed aspect of tutoring is being able to help someone, who previously was frustrated (to the point of hating a subject) fall in love and see it's beauty.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I start working with a new student the first thing I do is find a way we can relate, a common interest. Once that is found I use it to slowly introduce the topic at hand in an understandable and easy way.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Within my university, I create "test-reviews" in which I instruct 10-25 students on either General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Calculus. I also do 1 on 1 sessions for most STEM subjects. In the past, I have had experience dealing with children with disabilities (mental/physical). From these experiences (in test-reviews and working with children with disabilities) I have grown as an instructor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
No, very negotiable.
How did you get started teaching?
Through all of middleschool/highschool I helped my friends with their STEM work and was always told that I had wonderful explanations and really helped them understand the topic. I thought to myself, "maybe teaching could be interesting", and after three years here we are today!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all students ranging from middle school-undergrad. (Including those with disabilities and those of ranging GPA's) The most rewarding work is finding someone who vehemently hates a subject (due to grades or personal dislike) and showing them how amazing it really is!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was working with one of my closest friends explaining the trigonometric functions (Sin Cos Tan etc.) He told me that in the past he never understood them and found them stupid. Once I derived them and connected it to his major (environmental science) he finally had that "Aha!" moment. I gotta say a moment like that really has an effect on me. I was able to show someone who once hated something, how practical and amazing it can be.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would always start with making a list of topics which you would find questionable/hard. From a list, a teacher can streamline problems and information to allow you to have a better understanding of the material.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What topic within what subject do I really need to focus on?
Will I be committed to working with a teacher to increase my understanding of the material and raise my grades?
If you have answers to both then you are ready to go!
