I have a masters degree in English and a college professor for over 17 years.

I'm flexible but 20 is the going rate.
How did you get started teaching?
I've always wanted to improve writing for others so that's what I went to school for: to become an expert and use it to enhance other skills.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types and ages, from young adults to older adults.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Hire someone with passion and someone who puts your learning style first.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Try to determine exactly what their troubleshoots are, but if they can't, bring a sample of the writing so they teacher can see.
