Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When a student or parent contacts us, we discuss the student's strengths and areas that need improvement. After the application has been processed and payment has been made, we ship appropriate study materials directly to the student to use during his/her tutoring sessions. We meet our students in libraries, their home, or other quiet locations. Sessions generally last 90 minutes, but that can vary. We recommend at least 12+ total hours of tutoring to ensure deep learning and comprehension.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in English 7-12 and a Master's degree in Reading Education from Canisius College. I have extensive experience with all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Rates are $45.00 per hour for grades pre-K to 8, and $55.00 per hour for grades 9-12. Rates are also $55.00 per hour for post-secondary prep.
