Tutoring With Kelsey

My passion for tutoring comes from a lifelong love of learning. I graduated from Vanderbilt in 2018 with a BA in Molecular and Cellular Biology and I am currently a medical student. I began tutoring when I was in high school. Since then, I have helped countless students achieve their academic goals. I currently have 10+ years of tutoring experience, which has enabled me to refine my skills to provide the best possible support to my students. I also received extensive training from an ACT/SAT test prep company where I was formerly employed. Though I specialize in tutoring math and science, I have experience with college counseling, essay editing, and humanities courses.

Whether we are working on biology concepts or SAT Math, one of my goals for each session is to keep the student challenged, but not overwhelmed. I ensure that students are engaged in the session by encouraging independent thinking and problem-solving in my students. I hold myself to a high standard because I am invested in my students' success.

For that reason, I often ask for feedback and I will never bill for a lesson in which the student or parent is not completely satisfied with my tutoring. I will offer a free consultation meeting prior to the first session, at the student's or parent's request. References from prior students are available as well.
