Hi, I’m Katherine! Since high school my friends and family members have come to me for help writing and editing stories, essays, research papers, cover letters, personal statements, and more. I graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a double major in Writing Seminars and French. I also have an MA from NYU in Humanities and Social Thought, and am currently working on an MFA in Fiction at Columbia University. I have years of experience informally helping people with their writing and also some experience as a reading friend.
I love to work one on one with people on their writing, helping them clarify what they need to say and find their voice to say it. I not only help them to improve a particular piece, but also aid their writing process: how to think critically about their own writing, organize their thoughts, identify problem spots on their own, and build confidence for future pieces. Writing and reading has been central to my own experience, and I would like nothing more than to share my love of these subjects with others.
