Humanities And High-stakes Exams Tutoring

Hi! My name is Nick LaRock. I am fully certified to teach in NYS with a BA in Education and an MA in American History. My thesis was on the history of public education here in New York City.

I have 3 years experience teaching in "no excuses" charter schools throughout the city and spent a year teaching writing Hunter and Fordham here in the city. During that time and throughout my time in school I also worked as a tutor for students aged about 6 to 13 in after-school and summer programs throughout the city.

Currently I work as an ESL tutor and have had proven success both teaching and tutoring for all humanities based NYS and national high stakes exams like the Regents exam and the SAT. I am fully equipped to tutor in ESL, reading and writing, English and Literature, Social Studies, and high-stakes testing. I am also able to tutor for exams like the GED and the GRE.

I love working with students of all ages and helping adults and children in understanding something that they were struggling with in addition to being more successful people/students. I am a perpetual student and enjoy learning from my students as much as I do teaching.
