What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First getting to know my student by having a friendly conversation with them. Get them to relax with me, in this I find out what they want to achieve, what they expect from me and what they already know.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a teacher's assistant for over 3 years teaching adults and sometimes teens. I am currently have Introduction to TESL certificate and Modern Writing certificate
How did you get started teaching?
While doing some research for an Attorney, one of the Library Administrators ask me to assist her with doing some copies for a class she was preparing for. Upon doing that I notice she had an advertisement for a teacher's assistant. I asked If I could apply, she explained the duties and requirements and a week later I got the job.
What types of students have you worked with?
Teens and adults
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am very found National Day of Caring which is hosted by United Way. I participate every year.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take a chance, you never if that person will be the best person to help you reach your gold.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about what they need from the teacher to get what they want to achieve.
