About
As Miss Green (as I'm known by my kids...ok...ok...my students) I bridge that gap between compassionate facilitator and disciplined academic readiness preparer.
I am completely dedicated to each student learning in their own creative mental space since...let's see...I was 3 years old and enjoyed teaching the plants on my island porch (no judgment I was a baby), to the storied halls of academia as a University adjunct leacturer...to now the joys of early childhood education.
Teaching is not a profession for me, it is a calling and impacting the next generation through the honing of skills and the development of language is a life fully lived.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First hour for a new student is a GETTING TO KNOW YOU SESSION. We learn about each other's FAVORITE things and things on our ABSOLUTELY NO list.
I assess during this session the best way to facilitate learning for the student and establish through this session a TRUST BOND. If the student cannot trust me, tutoring will be difficult.
Beyond subject matter we set up the location for learning, minimizing/eliminating interferences (including family) and determine what subject strengths and learing challenges the student is facing.
We then in our SECOND HOUR go into working on overcoming the subject matter difficulties while validating the child's ability to succeed.
