About
I am a recent graduate of Reed College, a pretigious liberal arts college in Portland, OR, with a degree in English/Creative Writing. In my last year at Reed I worked as a peer tutor for numerous English and Humanities classes, primarily helping students refine their essay writing skills. I have an excellent personal track record, recieving college acceptance offers from prestigious schools like Bowdoin and Middlebury.
My process usually revolves around a 3-session model per essay: brainstorming, revising and finalizing. In the first stage I meet with students and help them generate exciting ideas, which they will subsequently turn into essays on their own times. I then read the first draft and proceed with a content-based approach to sharpen and help them define the message of their essay. They then take these steps and come back with a second draft, where I make line-edits to help them polish their grammar, and give them any final feedback so that their essay is ready to be sent off into the world!
Its my job to make what can often be a gruelling experience interesting, enlightening, and productive! All applicants have a story to tell, its my great pleasure to help them find that story, and tell it in the most effective way possible.

Pricing is set on a case by case basis-- but usually hovers around a 3-session brainstorming-revising-finalizing model, which I charge $150-$200 per essay for.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a wide variety of students and am sensitive to the social/cultural specificities of various students upbringings. Part of college essay writing is expressing these specificities in ways that others can understand. Likewise I have worked successfully with multiple students who used Enlgish as a second language. Everyone is well equipped to be a good reader/writer if given the chance!
