About
Hi Students,
My name is Sanyogita Bali. I am a cambridge certified Mathematics teacher and have taught secondary mathematics for both Cambridge and IB curriculum for the past eleven years in International Schools in jakarta.
Teaching Math is my passion however I have also taught Hindi as a private tutor and ICT to primary levels in my school. I love teaching math and after I start teaching math, my students have shown marked improvement in their grades. Earlier they used to get B's or C's now, I see them excel in math and get A's and A* and even some of them have also achieved best in Mathematics in cambridge math examination which is proud moment for me too.
In order to make my lessons fun and engaging, I apply various strategies in teaching math like
1. Flip Classroom
2. Student directed learning
3. Differentiated learning
4. Use of Technology for aschyronous and schyronous learning.
5. Use of graphical Softwares
6. My own video lessons and PPT.
I takes lot of effort and hard work to design various activities and projects for my students but I get the sense of fulfillment when I see my students excel in math and start loving math.
I enjoy teaching and I have been teaching since I was myself a college student. I used to teach even my peers when they were not able to catch up with the lessons taught by the teacher. My way of problem solving was also preferred by my peers and also now by my students.
I also love to be with kids and share knowledge with them. I have always taught in International Schools where I got to teach students from various nationalities and cultures. I also got to learn many things from them. I have also been lucky to work with colleagues from different nationalities and learnt about their cultures and beliefs. My school is like a family for me and it gives me immense pleasure to work in such organizations where the sharing of knowledge takes place during teaching and learning.

I first started teaching as a private tutor for Math in Inda while I was completing my degree. Later after moving to Singapore, I again taught Hindi and Math as a free lancer tutor. Finally in 2010, I got a full time job in an International School in Jakarta as Mathematics teacher for Secondary and also IT incharge for primary division. After that there was no looking back. It has been more than eleven years now teaching math to secondary school students .
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught students from various nationalities like Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, Singaporean, Phillipines and many more. All students have their unique way of learning. Some are visual while others are auditory learners. Some are fast learners while others take time to grasp new concepts and topics. However I make sure that my math classes are inclusive and each one of them get opportunity to participate and express themselves and give feedback about my teaching style.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I like STEAM Day as it gives opportunity to the students to work in collaborative manner. They are assigned some projects and work as a team to accomplish that project within the given time frame. It is an activity based learning where they work with various levels and not only learn mathematic skills but also other real life skills like Time management, team management.
My students have joined such events every year and thoroughly enjoy them.

If you got an expert teacher, just be open and let the teacher know about your weak areas and strengths as well.

Students should feel confident to ask freely anything which they want to learn or master. The student should not be shy to open up to the teacher.
The teacher can repeat the lesson if the student didnt get the concept properly.
