About
I am currently a first grade teacher in a local public school, and have a passion for helping students to grow and develop foundational reading and math skills. I have been a teacher for 10 years, and have experience in first through fifth grade. I strongly believe that all children can be successful; however, every path to success may be different. I offer an additional support outside of the classroom in order to fill gaps and prepare for upcoming material.
I hold a bachelor's degree in childhood education 1-6, and master's degree in special education which enables me to differentiate instruction for all learners.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will meet with each student and their family to discuss their goals for tutoring, and current academic standing. We will devise a plan together to achieve these goals and progress monitor throughout the process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a bachelor's degree in Childhood Education 1-6 and master's degree in Special Education. I also have a NYS Teaching Certification.

How did you get started teaching?
I have wanted to be a teacher for my entire life. I studied education throughout college, and began pursuing it professionally immediately after completion of my degree.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students in grades first through fifth on a variety of levels. I have experience working with general education students as well as students with disabilities.
