I take pride in my ability to explain mathematics in multiple different ways, address common misconceptions, and help students to actually understand what they are doing and why they are doing it. I taught 7th grade math for 7 years and taught high school math for 1/2 year. I have also taught all levels of summer school math. I have tutored students of all ages.
I love when I hear and/or see "ohhhhhh" as a student understands. The "ah-ha!" moment as they call it. However, by far the best part about my job is when a student says, "Ms. Barone, I didn't understand math last year and this year I do!" Or just if their math confidence improves and they maybe hate it a little less, that is my goal.
