Kevin Eister, Math And Science Tutor.
About
I am the kind of tutor who strives to help you, the student, understand the how and why behind the topics so that you will be better prepared to thrive on tests. Yes, minimal memorization is required in order to begin the process of understanding, but the route to understanding works to make for better confidence and scores on quizes and tests.
I have a bacholers degree in Chemistry, going for my Ph. D. in Radiochemistry, so I have much in the way of understanding in maths, chemistry, and physics. I have been tutoring since I started my third year in my undergraduate career 5 years ago.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work to understand how in particular a student processes new information, then adopt a tutoring plan which is best suited for the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.Sc. in Chemistry, and I am going back to school for Cyber Security. I have been a tutor for the past 4 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have a standard rate of $40/hr.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching when I transfered to UNLV after finishing my A.Sc., tutoring in first year chemistry.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with high school, college, and graduate school students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be as specific as you can be about which course you need help in as well as which topics within that course you need help with. There are many different chemistry courses, many of which tutors like me are strong in (Physical Chemistry, Quantum Chemistry) and some in which we are weak (Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry). The same concept applies to math (I am strong in Algebra and Calculus, weak in Geometry and Trig).
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask yourself where you're beginning to lose understanding in your course. This is where we would start with your understanding.
