GEARED TO LEARN was created after recognizing the strong need for a program to support students of varying abilities and learning styles in the Las Vegas Valley. Our passionate and dedicated educators provide one-on-one remedial support to students with learning differences and screen students who are at-risk. We understand the importance of partnering with you as parents, classroom teachers, and outside professionals to meet the academic needs of all students. Additionally, we screen and support at-risk or underperforming students to identify possible learning differences, conduct classroom observations as needed.

Working one-on-one with a specialist builds self-confidence, allows for strengths and weaknesses to be addressed more consistently and without the competition of other students, and enables your child to focus and absorb the academic material. We understand that children are unique learners. We are committed to supporting students with different learning styles by providing intervention and remediation.
SHELLEY KALB received her Master's in Education (M.Ed) in Literacy Education from Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland. Shelley is a Certified Reading Specialist (K-12), and has more than 25 years' experience as a classroom teacher and Principal. Shelley has worked with students of varying abilities and learning styles, using her training in Orton Gillingham, an instructional approach intended primarily for use with persons who have difficulty with reading, spelling, and writing, including students diagnosed with dyslexia. Many experts consider the Orton–Gillingham method the gold standard when it comes to teaching reading to kids with dyslexia. Programs based on its core ideas take a very structured approach. They’re also multisensory—using hearing, touch, movement and sight to make language connections. Additionally, Shelley incorporates her knowledge in Executive Functioning, skills required to help perform or accomplish everyday life tasks, an essential component in the foundation for academic success.
