What is your typical process for working with a new student?
At first, I learn a little about them and try to better understand their personality. Then, I ask them a series of questions to try and figure out what exactly it might be that they are struggling with. I then proceed to go over the subject matter integrating practice questions along the way. This gives me a better understanding of their work habits and problem solving skills which will better allow me to help them with their studies.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Science and coursework in all subject areas, including science and math.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically charge $50 for a single 1-hour tutoring session, with each additional hour at $40.
How did you get started teaching?
I first got started teaching as a high school student, assisting elementary school students with their reading skills. I have continued tutoring there on out, with special needs students, as well as at the group level in conjunction with The Boys and Girls Club of America, and The Girl Scouts of America.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages and levels, as well as with children with special needs.
