Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A few months before COVID had us all in lockdown, I convinced a friend of mine to join the writing workshop I lead. They had expressed a lot of doubt about their abilities as a writer as they had never been published, and primarily thought of themselves as an artist. They had similarly expressed a lot of hesitancy about joining the workshop, as they had recently dropped out of college and were afraid of returning to any sort of environment that might remind them of school. They joined the workshop and attended twice a week for over a year. A month ago, they were awarded a writing residency, and they are having their first chapbook published later this year. I'm so proud of them.
