i work well with students that are my age or younger because i understand their academic struggle. i also understand that the common institutional teaching curriculum doesn't work for every student. individualized learning is important because it can facilitate a system that works for a multifaceted person or child, rather than a nondescript "student" conforming to a non-individualized system.
i love learning about student's interests and skills, and how to incorporate them into the work that they make. i want to help students achieve their goals academically, but also help them their workload seem less intimidating or boring. literature is an incredibly diverse subject, and effective writing is a skill necessary for life.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
working on individual projects or assignments, reading over and analyzing writing style and assess how to improve vocabulary, delivery, coherence, and efficiency.

my fee is $20 an hour, but price can be negotiated based on financial need.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
try to find a teacher that you connect with who is willing to adjust to your individual method of learning rather than a teacher who is expensive or in high demand. a teacher that is patient and willing to have a conversation creates a more comfortable environment for the student, which can facilitate a more effective elarning environment.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
what can i (the student) do well? what are the areas in which i need to gain more experience and knowledge? what am i looking for in a lesson? what are my academic goals?
