Hello, my name is Gabrielle and I am a private English, reading, writing, and ACT/SAT prep. tutor in the Hopewell/Princeton Area. I currently instruct four classes of SAT preparation for Y2 ACT/SAT Academy in Princeton, and I am also accepting new private clients (middle school through undergraduate).
I specialize and have experience in teaching the following content areas: reading comprehension, high school and college essay writing, editing and grammar, advanced ESL, and ACT and SAT language section preparation.
Through my diverse teaching experiences, I have found that I have a great passion for working with individuals one-one-one. I believe that individualizing lessons to fit a student's unique needs and learning style can be more effective than classroom instruction. Through teaching experience and professional development, I have honed specific strategies of instruction to fit different learning styles, including students who have dyslexia and/or ADD/ADHD.
My educational and professional experience has been layered and extensive. In 2008, I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English in from The College of New Jersey (gpa 3.89). I went on to receive my Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Education in 2012, graduating second in my cohort, also from The College of New Jersey. Since completing my master's degree, I have worked in a variety of teaching positions: in a public school as a 7th grade language arts teacher, for a Trenton-area non-profit as an adult education instructor, and as a private tutor. I currently contract for a Princeton and SAT/ACT preparation academy.
