My teaching partners and I have been teaching math, music, computer programming, physics, biology, English, and Spanish for nine years, giving private and group lessons to students ranging from toddlers to college kids. We're flexible and adapt to individual student needs, drawing from varied teaching experiences and approaches across all subjects.
I love working with people and helping them to achieve their goals. When I help somebody put in the work to learn a concept and they have that moment of true, intuitive understanding, it is intensely rewarding. And when a student works at math or coding or piano enough that it becomes not just a field of study but an innate skill and passion, teaching becomes the most fulfilling activity I can imagine.
Working with Aaron was one of the best experiences for me! He helped me with many complex problems with python and always accommodated my schedule. It was an awesome experience and I really appreciate all the time and effort he put into working with me. He’s a solid tutor. Can’t recommend him enough
Aaron was very flexible with his time and very understanding of any question(s) I had. Couldn't thank him enough for all the help I received during his tutoring sessions. Highly recommend him!
I would recommend Aaron as a tutor. He was very flexible with scheduling times to review and he was very knowledgeable about Programming.
very professional and always willing to help.
Always be friendly, positive, and open. Focus on identifying the student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning style to make the best teaching plan moving forward.
I have nine years of one-on-one and group tutoring experience, teaching toddlers through college students. I teach elementary through high school math and physics, computer science and game programming, classical and popular piano, and English reading and writing. Our other teachers also teach SAT and ACT prep, college math courses up to multivariable calculus, biology, Spanish, ESL, violin, and viola.
My mom used to be an elementary school teacher, and she loves teaching so much she decided to continue teaching her passions, piano and yoga, after retiring. In 2013 she encouraged me to try tutoring piano, which I've been playing since I was 3, and I've been teaching ever since.
We've taught students of many different backgrounds from ages 5 to 50, both those who are new or struggling in the subject to those who are already excelling or working in their industry.
I recently played piano at the cocktail hour of a wedding along with a violinist. Jamming with other musicians is already one of my favorite things to do but the upbeat atmosphere of the wedding made this occasion especially fun. I love exploring theory and improvisation with my music students, since making your own music is in my opinion the most fun part of being a musician.
I would encourage making sure your teacher meshes with your learning style. Try out a lesson and see if their personality works with yours, if you feel like you can talk and learn comfortably, and if they are flexible and able to fulfill your learning needs. In my experience, having a supportive and compatible teacher and environment might matter even more than the material.
What do you want out of this learning experience? Lay out anything you have in mind about the material and the learning process. Then you and your teacher can work together to learn in the most productive way possible.
