Hola! I am a kind and caring bilingual tutor with many years of experience working with children and adults (15 years). I am currently a certified elementary teacher looking to continue to work helping learners reach their goals. I am friendly, extremely patient, and comfortable across all elementary subjects. I have extensive knowledge of how people learn and come motivated to help a new student engage with the material.
I love the experience of getting to know someone new, and helping them reach a goal of hers/his/theirs. Being able to work side by side to achieve something that positively affects someone else's life is a passion that keeps me in the education career.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As the name suggests, Amigos Nuevos is about getting to know you. What are your likes and dislikes? What motivates you to do well, and what derails your progress or concentration. Each student is different and it’s the tutors job to pause, listen, and develop a learning plan that will be engaging and cause the lessons to be learned and remembered for years to come.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified bilingual teacher in Morris county, NJ.
I have 9 years of teaching experience in the USA, Spain, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica.
I have two bachelors degrees: Psychology and Spanish.
I have a Masters of Arts from Teachers College Columbia University in Bilingual Education.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing is $60 per hour. I also offer classes for 30 minutes for $30- especially online, I have found that my clients like this option.
However, this journey is about more than money and I am willing to consider other pricing options, especially for group lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I grew up in a home of teachers and am the oldest of three. I was teaching naturally, even as a child. I continued on this path through volunteer opportunities starting at the age of 15, and continued through while developing a love of language and people from around the world.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as 2, and as old as 55. This breadth of experience allows me to focus on crafting motivational lessons and engage the student with their current interests in another language.
