About
I am a motivator who has a comprehensive command of the English language, its literature, and its many types of writing. Having taught both high school and college, I have extensive experience with every type of student, but I have had my greatest success with those who are gifted and talented. I did my Master's thesis on reading for standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT, and I tutored for years for one of the "big" companies where I was active in reviewing their study materials. My background gives me a solid edge when compared with others in this field.
I was born to be a teacher and I love what I do.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to establish rapport by asking questions about a student's likes and dislikes, including sports, reading, and technology. Since I am a musician, I often ask what he or she likes to listen to since this often gives me some insight into a personality.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught 7th and 8th grades, high school and college language arts. My Master's thesis was on deep-level reading for standardized tests such as SAT ans ACT.
