My tutoring method begins with me understanding the student's individual needs.  This could vary from a student needing assistance interpreting a specific teacher's assignment, help with learning methods, or basic knowledge training.  I typically find that most students find me helpful with learning material because I am able to communicate my knowledge effectively.  I typically start this first tutoring session by talking to the student and allowing them to voice their concerns, then I think of ways to help the student overcome learning barriers.  I think the most effective way for a student and I to work together is to break down the lessons over a span of a few days or more.  That way, the student has time to process what has been taught and adjust to our collaboration style.  I am open to the best method the student learns with and love to get creative!
