Please note that all of my tutoring is conducted online. Using video chat and an online whiteboard, we will use technology to create an engaging and efficient learning environment. I have found the online model of tutoring to be highly successful, and today's technologically-savvy students often feel more comfortable with this style of instruction.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step in working together is a free thirty-minute phone consultation in which we discuss your/your child's needs and goals and how I can help you to achieve them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a degree from The Pingry School, a highly selective college preparatory school, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Vassar College, a Seven Sisters college and one of the highest ranked institutions in the United States. In addition to my mathematics degree, education courses at Vassar have provided me with strong teaching strategies and philosophies. While attending Vassar, I instructed individual high school students to improve their grades and enrich their knowledge of mathematics. Through this, I gained significant experience tutoring all levels of high school math including Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Precalculus, and Calculus AB/BC. To complement my instruction experience, I worked for three years as a paper grader for the Vassar College Mathematics Department where I collaborated with faculty mentors to provide detailed written feedback on students’ homework assignments. As I continued my work as a mathematics tutor, I expanded into SAT and ACT preparation. While coaching numerous private students, I also volunteered my teaching services at a local high school, where I became director of an SAT preparation course. My responsibilities included designing a curriculum for all the program’s teachers in addition to teaching my own classes. I also work as a college counselor where I help students select the lists of universities to which they want to apply, craft the necessary essays, and develop the best strategy for their applications. With my guidance, my students have achieved admission into Ivy League universities and many other first-tier colleges and universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from all different backgrounds! Many of my students are from international backgrounds, including Romania, Sweden, Sri Lanka, Iran, France, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, and China. I also have experience working with students with mild learning disabilities, including ADD, ADHD, and dyslexia, though I want to emphasize that I am not credentialed in this area. I enjoy working with students of all backgrounds, and I look forward to learning how I can best help you achieve your goals.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It is best to find a tutor who will work with you to set realistically attainable goals. Any tutor promising that your child will score perfect SATs and be accepted to Harvard is, unfortunately, not a trustworthy source! Instead, look for a tutor who will take the time to get to know their students so they can clearly identify what steps your child needs to take in order to improve.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I am here to guide you through the process and to make it as easy as possible for you!
