I am a highly-qualified elementary and middle school teacher in the state of New Jersey. I was selected as the teacher of the year in my school in 2016. I have my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Montclair State University and my Masters Degree in Educational Technology from New Jersey City University. I am currently in school to become certified in educational supervision and administration.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
After deciding on the tutoring arrangements, I will assess the student with a pre-test to determine their currently ability levels. then, I will address their areas of need by utilizing my expertise and resources. This process will continue until they are at the desired proficiency level.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently in my 11th year as a middle school math teacher. I have taught all 3 middle school grades (6th, 7th and 8th). I was selected as the teacher of the year in my school in 2016.

My pricing will be determined on an individual basis.
How did you get started teaching?
I originally went to school for and worked in the finance world. After spending a few years in corporate America, I had a change or heart and wanted to do something that allowed me to make a difference. For me, that difference would ultimately would be made in the classroom as a teacher.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all levels of students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would recommend for someone in search of a tutor to talk to several tutors and ask them questions related to teaching and tutoring. I would advise them to select the person that they are most comfortable with.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I think students should first assess whether they are working hard enough in the classroom. If they aren't, maybe that is where they should start before hiring a tutor. If they are and they still need help, I think getting a tutor is a good step to take.
