Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start off with what the student wants me to do for them. If it's help with a topic or lesson, I explain the topic in detail and follow it up with worksheets and/or problems. If a student wants a review, I go over the topics briefly and follow it up with a study guide and/or questions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a senior in high school, and I've volunteered at Eye Level Learning Center, tutoring elementary-middle school students in math and english. I'm also a tutor at the First Tee Tutoring Center in Edison, NJ, and I tutor 5th-8th graders in their school work, regardless of subject.
I'm currently taking AP Calculus BC (Calculus 1&2). I took AP Statistics my junior year and earned a 4. I earned a 790 on the Math section of the SAT and earned a 780 on the Math 2 SAT Subject test. I've tutored multiple students at school and at home in math and science.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring many students at school and realized I love helping people get better and succeed!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with elementary, middle school, and high school students in any subject/schoolwork, but I mostly teach math and science.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My fondest memories are of marching band and our weekend competitions!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for tutors who want to help you with what you want and meet your needs. If a tutor doesn't fully explain or help you understand the topic, they are not for you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do I understand? What do I not understand? How do you study or learn?
