I have been teaching for 2 years from beginner to advanced, including academic writing. I have learned that it is key to establish goals with the student from the beginning, and a patient and driven environment is key!
I use a variety of methods including conversational, research, reading and writing. My tutoring style is to help take the monotony out of learning challenging topics by helping students realize that writing and the English language are tools to show themselves to the world.
My past students have won creative writing competitions, published short stories, and above all discovered beauty in the English language.
Seeing my students become confident in their abilities and begin to push themselves beyond what they thought was possible is by far the most rewarding part of the job! This moment of breakthrough that I am lucky enough to encourage is why I tutored for free for years in college, and inspired me to bring my passion to wider audiences.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students should contact Breakthrough via email or text. Within 24 hours you will be contacted to coordinate an initial meeting over the phone to discuss goals, areas for improvement, and ask any questions about our style and rates.
