STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS
I have been employed as an expert in finance and public education for the past 27 years. As an Adjunct Professor, I currently teach managerial and corporate finance, statistics and macro and micro-economics at Mercy College, Bronx, NY.
I’ve also taught the same subjects, including entrepreneurship, at Fordham University, Pace University and Westchester Community College. Irrespective of location, I have consistently ranked in the top quintile of each school’s faculty for my effectiveness as an educator.
However, my proudest achievements have been in the areas of tutoring fourth through eighth graders in mathematics and english grammar.
Approximately, three years ago, I was providing tutoring services in math to an eighth grader in the Jersey City Public School System. That student scored the highest in her class in mathematics on a year-end standardized test. As a result, she received a full 4-year scholarship to one of the most prestigious catholic high schools in Jersey City, NJ.
Under my tutelage, her sister presented a project at the city-wide science fair and was awarded top honors for her project.
My academic credentials are extensive. I have a M.Sc. in Finance and Applied Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); and another Masters in Regional Economics (M.A.) from the graduate school of Public and International Affairs, University of Pittsburgh co-jointly with Carnegie-Mellon University. I also has a M.Sc. in Economics from Beloit College, in Beloit, Wisconsin.
I am currently CFO of Deca Construction Supply, Inc, a construction supply house in Edgewater, NJ. that provides pipe and fittings for water, drainage and sewage. Among a myriad of current and past projects, his firm has supplied nearly all the below-ground construction materials for the new Jets/Giants Stadium in Rutherford, NJ; and almost half the drainage pipe for the new World Trade Center and WTC Museum in NY.
I enjoy the analytical requirements associated with my construction engineering work and the associated interrogatories that stem from the procurement decision.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We begin with a half hour or so of getting to know each other. Then, I administer a diagnostic quiz, allaying all concerns about it being graded. At our next session, I return the evaluated diagnostic and we review the answers. It becomes the basis for a program of study tailored to the time horizon of the engagement. We establish performance objectives with milestones to calibrate the student’s progress with parental updates and feedback.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As CFO of my own company, I have approximately 35 years of experience in the accounting, audit, financial planning, analysis and forecasting functions working for three major Fortune 100 companies in banking, financial services and manufacturing.
As an Adjunct Professor, I have been teaching statistics, managerial accounting, financial analysis and planning, micro-economics and macro-economics the past 25 years at Mercy College, Fordham University, Pace University and Westchester Community College in NYC.

No, I do not. It depends entirely on the student and the
complexity of the task at-hand.
How did you get started teaching?
I grew up in Chicago, Illinois in the 60’s where my
Dad was a Principal of a high school and my mother taught 3rd grade for over 40 years. A great deal of stress was placed on the value of receiving a merit-based education from the finest schools available. During a corporate presentation, the Dean of Mercy
College some twenty-five years ago, asked me to consider becoming an adjunct professor and I agreed.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with elementary, undergraduate and graduate students in teaching basic, intermediate and advanced mathematics and english grammar and composition. In particular, I've worked with middle-school adolescents in Jersey City, NJ who have advanced to receiving the highest honors for their achievements and academic scholarship..
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My company was awarded the contract for provisioning the underground piping for the new World Trade Center in NYC.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
First, the interpersonal skill set should be identified and
determined and chemistry assessed. Then, the hard skill sets of the teacher should be presented, weighed appropriately and subsequently evaluated.
